Reminder

Accepting Project Concept Proposals

Apply by May 2, 2008 for October funding decisions

 

The FINRA Foundation supports research and educational projects that improve financial and investor education or advance investor protection in the United States. Priorities for 2008 include creating new marketing and distribution channels for financial and investor education, helping Americans manage their finances and investments in retirement, meeting the financial and investor education needs of underserved audiences, and using behavioral finance to improve saving and investing. Applicants must first submit a simple three-page Project Concept Form. Applicants whose projects most closely align with the Foundation’s priorities will be invited to submit a full grant proposal.

 

Project Concept Forms may be submitted at any time throughout the year; however, submission deadlines correspond to the announcement of grant awards. Project concepts received by May 2, 2008 will be eligible for an October funding decision.

 

Resources

 

The Foundation is pleased to highlight the following new resources developed by its grantees:

 

First Nations Development Institute recently published an Instructor's Guide as a companion piece to its popular Building Native Communities: Investing for the Future curriculum.

 

The University of Connecticut-Stamford has examined the use of visual primes in the online presentation of disclosure information. A summary report (PDF 818 KBexplains these new research findings in an easy-to-read format.

 

The Rutgers University School of Business has studied the effect of fund assortment in retirement plans. The summary report (PDF 489 KB explores potential solutions to challenges created by different fund assortments.
